DISCUSSION WORKSHOPS : OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXCHANGING VIEWS AND SHARING KNOW-HOW

Every year, ARTfactories/Autre(s)pARTs organises internal discussion workshops on topics related to issues proposed by host organisations.
These workshops are an occasion for committed encounters and for comparing and contrasting experience and views, on the basis of concrete examples of artistic and social experiments, to stimulate and promote thinking, analysis and actions proposed by the various teams involved in ARTfactories/Autre(s)pARTs. These workshops are a response to the teams’ need to address issues as diverse as urban development or socio-economic or environmental questions concerning project-spaces and their development. A summary is then made public to stimulate thinking, analysis and discussion.

The question of the neighbourhood
Neighbours are not just ordinary local people like any others. Sometimes, they are even artists and they decide to investigate the common bond (a neighbourhood, an apartment building or a history) that they share. What can we do with this neighbourhood relationship? Address it, as do the artists and arts players who attended this workshop, and discover the source of issues that go well beyond the boundaries of everyday existence.

Artistic creative processes and urban renewal - June 2009
The long summary is now avalaible!
Artistic and cultural projects within the framework of urban development policy involve many different issues and many different partners. It is still always difficult to create or provide conditions for the real participation of sections of the population and durable collaboration between partner organisations, especially as there is no established ordinary system for this type of project.
