CALL FOR APPLY/CURATOR RESIDENCY APRIL-JUNE 2006/NOISY-LE-SEC, FRANCE


Every year, La Galerie, a contemporary art centre located in Noisy-le-Sec,suburbs of Paris, offers a residency for a curator. The aim of this three month residency is to create an exhibition at La Galerie within the context of a French art centre, and also, to meet people working in the field of contemporary arts. To be selected, the curator has to submit an exhibition proposal, which he/she will install with the help of the team of La Galerie.
A 15 000 € budget is offered to cover artists and curator’s travel expenses and includes the curator’s fee (2 000 €), art works transport, insurance, production costs, publicities (invitations, flyers, poster...).
In addition the curator would be required to:
- engage himself/herself as best as possible within the context of the art centre and to participate in public talks and events, organised by la Galerie.
To facilitate communication with the team and the publics, the curator should speak French or English.

SELECTION

Application should contain:
- the curator’s C.V. with his/her name, address, phone and e-mail
- an exhibition proposal (2 pages maximum), explaining the idea behind the exhibition, providing a list of artists which for each artist a text and a picture.

After a first evaluation, the selected curators will be invited to present their project, in a conference call with the jury, in February.
Residency dates: from 3 April to 30 June 2006
Exhibition dates: 13 May to 22 July 2006
