Geographic focus: both national and Soros network programs.
Sorosa Fonds Lavija mission is to promote the development of an open society in Latvia.
Activities :
Rule of Law : anti-corruption, Prison and Police reform, Law programs.
Civil Society : Public policy development, Baltic-American partnership, Human Rights and Tolerance, Open school and East-East programs.
Education : Higher education support, Education policy development, Teaching reform programs.
Arts and culture : development of cultural policy, cultural education and cultural links between Central and Eastern European countries, support and collaborate with the Centre for Contemporary Art (innovative initiatives), concept for a contemporary art museum.
Capacity Building Program: support for Culture management training centres, policy research centres, "art for social changes" centres, regional centres in Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Balkans.
Procedures: applications handed in before March 15.
"Looking Inside" - Internships for Art Managers: encourage innovative experience and new models of cultural organisation activities, implementation of new methods.
Public: culture managers, administrators of well-known and approved art and culture institutions and organisations in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Caucasus and Mongolia.
Procedures: applications submitted till 28th of February.
Public Health : health care initiatives, mental disability programs.
