Casa das Caldeiras is situated in the district of Agua Branca, the Western zone of the city of Sao Paulo, not so far from the historical centre. Currently the city is expanding towards the south, so the site is not directly situated in an area of expansion.

Joel Borges de Freitas Projetos Culturais - producer, curator and project director of ACCC - Method of organization - Governance The Cultural Association of Casa das Caldeiras is an association of common people interested in creating a space-project focused in its nature and historical and symbolic importance. The association have the constant support of the company known as Casa das Caldeiras Eventos, which maintain the building by promoting events on it.
The ACCC elected Karina Saccomanno Ferreira as ist president who is responsible for its annual administration and directs the programs with the help of some employers from Casa das Caldeiras team. The cultural producer Joel Borges, by its company, offers the services of project direction, consulting and curatorial work for each year project.
Every beginning of year ACCC needs to close contracts in order to support the year project, getting sponsorship from other companies and institutions for production and spending to follow the plan and produce the programs: Work-in-Progress, Respect and TODODOMINGO - Evaluation Project OBJECTIVE
• new reflections on preservation, rehabilitation and cultural reusable of historical spaces and collective memory;
• create programs for the accomplishment of artistic projects;
• promote cultural actions, in network with the artists, opening the creative process to the public;
• promote the cultural inclusion through social projects in partnership with other institutions;
• build a critical and faithful public by rescuing the memory of the city and working with citizenship concepts;
• stimulate the cultural exchanges by creating and developing relationships among artists, cultural structures, researchers, economical agents and the public;
• elaborate projects of international cooperation, for artistic, cultural and research exchanges;

The Cultural Association Casa das Caldeiras chose projects that can meditate and interact with the notions of diversity, traversal and complementary.
The main theme of the whole occupation settles down for the trinomial ART- TERRITORY- HISTORY, that represents a retro-feeding cycle and symbiosis relation in the cooperation process of cultural exchange.
The Cultural Project is guided by the articulation between the planned programs and activities for each year. Some responsibility lies on the speakers and actors of the cultural project. The exchanges among the artistic production at the place, the interventions at the territory, the dialogues with the historical site, besides the interaction with the public's participation generates reflections on the cultural context and gives life to the space-project.
Each program from ACCC project has a specific approach, but the dialogue among them results in an united and engaged Cultural Project, that gives special attention to the Cultural Inclusion, through the commitment of making known the need and the importance of preserving, recycle and valuing the history and memory.

Built in the decade of 20 from the last century as power station that generated energy for the whole Matarazzo's Industrial Complex.
Today, the Cultural Association Casa das Caldeiras rescues its original function of Power Generator for the arts and the society. A power fusion center for the artistic dynamics, social and cultural actions, a fertile land for the artists, researchers, civil society, public and private institutions, producing new perspectives for performing arts and cultural development in Brazil.
The Cultural Association Casa das Caldeiras develops its projects in partnership with public and private organizations, international offices and political instances, in net and in cooperation with other spaces. The ACCC stimulates initiatives and interactions with historical and representatives spaces, filled with memories, in their process of rehabilitation and revitalization.
Casa das Caldeiras, itself, has been working with cultural actions since 2002. This work began by a call from the artists and the public, passionated for the building and its symbolism, that represents an entirely restored industrial and historical site that keeps a part of the Sà£o Paulo's memory.
Between 2002 and 2006, there were developed projects of artistic experimentation, site-specific projects that were inspired and contaminated by the building in the areas of dance, performing arts, theater, visual arts and circus. There were promoted workshops, meetings, forums of cultural discussions, exhibitions, presentations, plays, opened process, among other activities exploring the unusual aspects offered by the space.
In 2006, Karina Saccomanno Ferreira, managing partner of Casa das Caldeiras and Joel Borges, director of the French Association IXKIZIT, started to work and develope in association to create a plan for the development of ACCC and its projects. The Cultural Association of Casa das Caldeiras had been officially found in 2005, providing new possibilities for a consistent Artistic and Cultural occupation of the building.
The Cultural Association Casa das Caldeiras - ACCC has its bases in the Cultural Promotion and Development of the historical site, elaborating a working plan that started on 2007 with a dynamic occupation of artistic and cultural actions, open to the contemporary researches, in the field of the arts and society. A project that multiplied already on the following years, allowing and valuing transformations in what is concerned the Cultural Inclusion and Artistic Production in Brazil.
Today, the Cultural Association Casa das Caldeiras is a welcome partner to elaborate and accomplish Projects of Cooperation (artistic exchanges and cultural development), and, to the artists, researchers and civil society.
The building of Casa das Caldeiras is preserved and protected by CONDEPHAAT and CONPRESP, as an Historical Industrial Site. Due to this fact, the Cultural Association Casa das Caldeiras develops all its projects around the themes: ART - TERRITORY - PATRIMONY. - Genesis - History - Identity 1920 - construction

The "Work-in-Progress'" values the artist's process in the course of the development of his work, experimenting his project from the territory, as an outside challenge, working with the dialectics between Art and History that Casa das Caldeiras provides.
The program consists on making possible physical space for artistic residences, offering logistic and administrative monitoring and attendance, stimulating and creating situations for knowledge, methods and impressions exchange among the residents.
The diffusion of the artistic projects in residence will be promoted during the "Tododomingo Program" sundays encounters, where the artists can present to the general public their work. L and process. Later on, the artists will present their final results.
The artists will have the opportunity to develop workshops and lectures for the population, promoting a dialogue and knowledge with the public.
