West Space Inc. is one of Australia’s most established artist run organisations. It provides a supportive and flexible venue for the presentation of innovative contemporary art and its ensuing dialogue. West Space runs an application-based program alongside the West Space Projects Program. This program supports ambitious artist-initiated/ developed exhibitions, small scale specialist arts publications, sound releases, performances and international exchanges. West Space has been involved with several international projects since 1998 and is committed to building international relationships with artist-run initiatives and artists.

Infrastructures / Facilities
West Space operates three exhibition spaces, Gallery One (10 X 5.95m) Gallery Two (6.13 x4.15m) and Gallery Three (2.86 x 4.5m). Gallery Three operates as a normal gallery or as an audio/visual room. Audio Visual equipment is available to rent for use in exhibitions and events held at the gallery.
Social and artistic disciplines
West Space gives artists direct control over the means and conditions of presenting their work to the public. While many artists exhibiting at West Space are young or emerging, there are also a significant number of established artists that choose to exhibit at West Space.
West Space is funded by The City of Melbourne, Arts Victoria and the Australia Council for the Arts, as well as gallery hire fees, fundraising, donations, subscriptions, sponsorship and in-kind labor.
